Binay to US: Grant TPS to undocumented Filipinos

Vice President Jejomar Binay on Thursday said he hopes the United States government will grant Temporary Protection Status (TPS) to Filipinos working in the US who were or have relatives affected by Supert Typhoon Yolanda.

“This humanitarian act will further cement and deepen the friendship between Filipinos and Americans. As Presidential Adviser on Overseas Filipino Workers’ Concerns, I pray that the US government will grant our request as an affirmation of our two nations’ partnership,” Binay said in his message on Fil-American Friendship Day, which coincides with the US’ Fourth of July celebration.

“With the issuance of the TPS, our kababayans in the US, especially the undocumented Filipinos forced to work abroad because of their circumstances, can focus on providing for their families and rebuilding their lives without worrying about being removed from employment or deported back to the Philippines,” he said.

Yes, I think Binay’s alleged TPS Support is politically motivated for the following reasons:
    1. 2016 Presidential election bid
2.Manipulating pinoys in America for electorates support & vote
    3. To cover his “Ghost” Makati proj. in the past, also his corrupt practices in Makati
    4. To validate his political dynasty ambitions and cover power abuse by children & wife
    5. TPS support will increase his votes to TPS recipients back home.

  2. I don’t want to think that Binay’s call for TPS is politically motivated because there was a total silence on their part regarding the Filams call for relief when Obama went to the Philippines early this year..
