• BIR files case vs Laguna construction firm

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has filed a case before the Department of Justice against GMC Construction and Development Corp. (GMC) and its president, Fred de la Cruz, for failure to pay P191.19 million in taxes for 2008 and 2009. GMC, engaged in general construction business, has registered address in Bigaa, Cabuyao, Laguna and a unit at Madrigal Business Park in Alabang, Muntinlupa City. The BIR records of investigation showed that GMC and its officials allegedly failed to comply with and respond to demands for payment of their tax dues in spite of notices sent to them.
