The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) filed separate cases before the Department of Justice (DOJ) against a contractor in Naga and a businessman in Camarines Norte in connection with tax liabilities incurred for several years.
Facing a case is Tessie Moral of No. 3 Isarog Avenue, Naga City and proprietor of TRM Construction located in Camaligan, Camarines Sur.
The revenue office said Moral allegedly incurred tax liabilities in 2008 and 2009 amounting to P3.77 million, inclusive of increments, broken down into: 2008 – P1.09 million (income tax – P0.77 million and value added tax – P0.32 million); and 2009 – P2.68 million (income tax – P1.91 million and value added tax – P0.77 million).
BIR Legazpi City records of investigation showed that despite notices, Moral failed to pay the said taxes, hence the filing of the case.
Similarly, businessman Jose Bautista, owner of J&T Store and Animal, Poultry and Feed Supply, with address at Poblacion Central, Ocampo in Camarines Sur has incurred a total tax accountability amounting to P2.20 million for 2008.
The tax assessment covers income tax – P1.24 million and value added tax – P0.96 million.
The local revenue office said that Bautista was served the requisite preliminary assessment notice (PAN), and formal letter of demand (FLD) with details of discrepancies, but failed to protest the said assessments, hence making it final, executory and demandable.
