BIR touts new e-filing system

The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has introduced a new infomercial showcasing the e-filing process, hoping to lure taxpayers to register, file and pay taxes on time.

Using online forms downloadable from the BIR website, e-filing aims to promotes faster compliance by doing away with the hassles of the manual filing of tax returns.

The e-filling process is part of the bureau’s “Angat ‘Pa, ‘Pinas!” public awareness campaign.

“This strategy will help us make Filipinos see that we are working together toward a better Philippines. We want to show that we are going in the right direction by doing our share in paying our taxes,” Commissioner Kim Jacinto-Henares said.

The advocacy campaign is part of the bigger Revenue Administration Reform Project that is being implemented by BIR with support from the Millennium Challenge Corp. and the Millennium Challenge Account-Philippines.

“We want to tell our taxpayers where their taxes went. That no matter how big or small their contributions are, the taxes they pay will help th ding for various projects and programs that bring about economic arid sustainable growth to the Filipino people,” Henares said.

“We collect taxes not only because it is our job but also, in the greater scheme of things. for the love of country. Taxes are integral to the nation’s progress,” she added.
