Bird strike forces plane to return

A Bacolod-bound Airbus A320 of Cebu Pacific Air returned safely to the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) after a bird strike on Friday. A report from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) showed that flight 5J475 Capt. Wilmer Nicdao requested for a landing clearance after the plane’s engine sucked some birds that crossed the plane’s path. An airport official said that birds have always been a problem despite the NAIA’s bird control system and hazard prevention equipment.
