Bishop seeks prayers for Pinay convict

BALANGA City: Bishop Ruperto Santos of the Diocese of Balanga on Saturday asked for prayers and joined in the appeal to save Mary Jane Veloso who is facing execution in Indonesia. “At this time, it is important for all of us to be one in prayer to save Veloso’s life. We in the migrants ministry and apostolate feel deep concern and sadness over her unfortunate situation,” the Bataan prelate said. Santos is the Episcopal chairman of the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People. “Every life is precious as it comes from God. We storm heavens with prayers that she be saved from this tragic fate,” the bishop said.
