• Bishops: Love much, give to the poor

THE Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) has called on the faithful to do acts of charity during the Holy Week.

CBCP president and Lingayen-Dagupan Archbishop Socrates Villegas on Tuesday said that doing acts of charity, in addition to praying and offering sacrifices, is one of the meaningful activities that Catholics could offer.

“If you want to truly make a good Holy Week love much. Love more,” Villegas said “Give to the poor. Visit the jail. Visit hospital wards.”

“This pilgrimage to the poor will add to the holiness of our times,” he added..
Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle also called on the faithful to learn from Jesus in facing their enemies and challenges.

“Let us emulate what Jesus did in having faith. Let us put our faith in God and we will have the peace of mind and we will learn to love our enemies,” said Tagle.

To the Cardinal and the Catholic Bishop Conference to the Philippines (CBCP) I would like to express my displeasure by saying SHAME TO ALL OF YOU! You are the main reason why the Philippines is a very poor country, over populated that exceeded its resources, and corruptions are at every level in the government. You are all living comfortably, and cannot even share your wealth by intermittently feeding these poor families. I would suggest that you should lead the way in helping by feeding these poor people, the Children of GOD.

You, Holy Fathers, of the Roman Catholic Church are to be blamed for interfering in politics by going against all proposed legislation that should benefit poor Filipino Families and the whole population in general. Giving love to empty stomachs is not going to help or improve the situation of those starving people. Many people are looking at you, the leaders of the Roman Catholic Church to start doing something to alleviate hungers. Give some of your accumulated wealth, back to the starving poor and needy by feeding them, not just praying for them. I am also praying that you will do something, Holy Fathers, to extend your help to these starving people. I am also asking these in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Amen.
