Filipino Grandmaster (GM) Richard Bitoon secured the runner-up honors in the 2nd Johor International Chess Open held at the Johor Bahru City Square Office Tower in Malaysia. Bitoon collected seven points on six wins and two draws, to tie FIDE (International Chess Federation) Master Dang Hoang Son of Vietnam in the No. 2 spot. The Filipino wizard, however, grabbed the silver by virtue of superior tiebreak points, leaving Hoang Son in the third place. International Master (IM) Ali Muhammad Lutfi of Indonesia bagged the crown after earning 7.5 points on six wins and three draws.
