Vic20151225With the lead up to Christmas Day a veritable circus for the entertainment beat—what with interviews, press conferences, previews and premieres left and right—there is still much to be written about from the stars of this year’s eight entries to the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Let’s read them, straight from celebs themselves.

Vic Sotto on Maine Mendoza’s performance in My Bebe Love: #KiligPaMore. And hindi naman kami nagkamali because she really has the knack for comedy.”

Maine20151225Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza on working with comedy stars Vic Sotto and Ai Ai delas Alas.

Vice Ganda describing his real-life friendship with Coco Martin, his co-star in Beauty and the Bestie. “Personal. Sobrang personal.

John-Lloyd20151225John Lloyd Cruz on his “debut” film for the Metro Manila Film Festival, Honor Thy Father, and shaving his head for his role. “Ito ang gusto kong entry. [Shaving my hair] was an act of courage—mas mahirap magpakalbo kaysa pumatay.”

Janella Salvador of Haunted Mansion on going against other love teams in the festival. “Siyempre maraming love teams doon na medyo super [lakas]na kalaban namin, but kami lang ang horror and hindi kami nakikipag-compete sa mga love teams. Kami lang din ang love triangle doon [with co-stars Marlo Mortel and Jerome Ponce], pero the film could stand on its own.

Janella20151225Jodi Sta. Maria, who stars across Ian Veneracion, among the love teams of All You Need is Pag-Ibig. Siguro lang dahil we enjoy working with each other, and dahil doon yung joy of working with each other, nata-translate siya sa ginagawa namin.

Vhong Navarro of Buy Now Die Later, on finally getting to make a movie again. “Ang ganda nung nangyari nung 2015 ko [his rape charges against Deniece Cornejo were dismissed].

Jennylyn Mercado, MMFF 2014’s Best Actress, on the possibility of winning again in #WalangForever. “If my performance gets recognized again, then great; if not, no problem. I don’t think about it all that much. What’s important for me is making sure that our entry pleases viewers.
