• Blazers eye solo lead in NCAA football

College of Saint Benilde (CSB) guns for the solo lead while Lyceum of the Philippines University eyes its breakthrough win when the two teams battle today in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Season 93 seniors football tournament at the Rizal Memorial Football Stadium in Manila.

The Blazers vs Pirates 6 p.m. collision closes a triple-header day.

The No.2 St. Benilde has six points on two wins in as many games behind defending champion San Beda College that holds a superior goal difference.

CSB is riding the momentum of its 5-0 rout of University of Perpetual Help System DALTA six days ago.

A third straight win for the Taft-based booters will propel them past the idle Red Booters.

Lyceum, however, is raring to notch its first victory after its season debut.

The squad from Intramuros went misfired against Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC), 0-1.

Meanwhile, Arellano University and EAC shoot for a winning streak when they take on bottom teams Mapua and Perpetual, respectively.

The Chiefs are keen to notch a second consecutive triumph in their match day opening encounter against the cellar-dwelling Cardinals at 2 p.m.

Arellano posted its first win at the expense of Perpetual, 3-0, in the season opener while Mapua lost in its first two assignments, with the last one a 0-10 beating at the hands of San Beda.

The Generals, on the other hand, also seek to get a second straight victory against the listless Altas Booters at 4 p.m.
