A party-list group on Wednesday balked at the decision of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) to cancel the franchise of the 76-strong Don Mariano Transit bus fleet. The ruling is unfair to the bus firm’s other employees that have nothing to do with the accident, they said.|
The 1-United Transport Koalisyon (1-UTAK) also insisted that canceling the Don Mariano Transit franchise would not address safety issues hounding the public transport sector, which according to the group, is a result of the failure of the concerned government agencies to come up with a clear policy on safety of public transport.
