BMW’s 8 Series has been the Bavarian brand’s sporty GT during its inception in 1990 aiming at a new market. Production ended in 1999 with over 30,000 units built and the names was never to be seen again. Until now.

After the racing version debuted in the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans, BMW took its covers off the new 8 Series, reviving the name after 19 years. Developed in parallel with the racing M8 GTE, the new 8 Series is aimed to wage war against the likes of the Porsche 911 and Mercedes Benz AMG GT. It will also replace the 6 Series that has been the GT offering for almost a decade.
