• BOC denies hiring singer Mocha

THE Bureau of Customs (BoC) on Thursday denied it has hired Mocha Uson, a member of the all-female singing and dancing group Mocha Girls.

BoC Commissioner Nicanor Faeldon said he has no plans of hiring Uson as social media consultant of the bureau.

Faeldon, through the bureau’s Public Information and Assistance Division (PIAD), came out with the clarification following reports on social media that he has designated Uson as media consultant.

“Commissioner Faeldon won’t appoint Mocha Uson as BoC social media consultant. But he told her that she can write articles about BoC on her blog,” a statement released by PIAD said.

Uson,34, has more than four million followers in Facebook. She has recently visited Faeldon for an interview, which she posted Wednesday on her Facebook page.

Aside from being a popular singer-dancer and blogger, Uson gained prominence after she was granted an exclusive interview with President Rodrigo Duterte days before his inauguration.

Uson, 34, is Margaux Uson in real life. She hails from Pangasinan.
