• Bomb joke lands driver in jail

A DRIVER of Air Serve Cargo Express, Marlon Soriano, 34, was jailed for making a bomb joke at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) at dawn on Tuesday. Philippine National Police- Aviation Security Group director Chief Supt. Mao Aplasca said Soriano was arrested by a security guard who was inspecting the closed van he was driving after he said “There’s a bomb there.” Uttering a bomb joke is prohibited and penalized under Presidential Decree 1727, known as the Anti-Bomb Joke Law. The law declares as unlawful the malicious dissemination of false bomb threat, false information concerning threats of bombs, explosives or similar devices and imposes the penalties for it, Aplasca said.
