Bomber nabbed in Davao


ZAMBOANGA CITY: Military authorities are holding a 22-year old man who was found transporting improvised explosives and a fragmentation grenade in Davao City on Friday.

Suspect Roy Moreno, a native of Kidapawan City, was in a commuter van when soldiers manning the checkpoint in Toril district discovered the explosives late Friday enroute to Davao.

No other details were available by the military about Moreno except that he belongs to an indigenous tribe. It was also unknown if he is a member of the communist rebel group New People’s Army (NPA) which is actively operating in Davao.

Moreno is being interrogated and did not give any statement to about the explosives.
