Another explosion rocked the transmission line of power grid operator National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP) in North Cotabato, causing power interruption in the province and nearby areas.
In an advisory Friday, the grid operator said the power outage started at 8:15 p.m. on Thursday.
NGCP noted that prior the brownout, “a loud explosion was heard along the NGCP’s Kibawe-Sultan Kudarat 138 kilovolt (kV) line.”
The grid operator added one of its towers along the transmission line was bombed in October.
NGCP also said it could not activate the alternate line in the area, which is the Tacurong-Sultan Kudarat 69-kV line.
However, the grid operator said the “cause of failure” is unknown yet.
