Daet City, Camarines Norte: Vice presidential candidate Senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Friday refused to comment on the ongoing controversy involving the reported bank accounts of Davao Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, saying the facts have not been established yet.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his Unity Caravan here, Marcos, however, stated that he was willing to execute a waiver on the secrecy of his bank account, where his salaries as a senator are deposited. He said it is his only bank account.

“I am willing to sign a waiver but I have only one bank account and that is where I get my salaries as a government official so the government has a record of my bank account,” he said.

He said he could not comment on the controversy surrounding Duterte because the whole picture is not yet complete. “It is not yet clear. We do not have the facts yet,” he said.

Marcos also said it is also not proper for him to tell the mayor what to do. “It’s not for me to say, that is for the mayor to decide on how he would like to handle that particular issue.”

    1. The reply of the Senator from Ilocos Norte is not only most appropriate and in good taste but one with utmost delicacy. Very fitting someone who will one day lead this country.

I have not written this comment anytime earlier.
