    BGC Passionfest 2013 activities raise funds for Visayas
    The BGC Passionfest 2013, which celebrated the 150th birth anniversary of revolutionary hero Andres Bonifacio, recently concluded at the Bonifacio Global City grounds. Held from November 30 to December 2, the whole area was transformed into a grand fiesta filled with exciting activities focused on culture, art, fitness, lifestyle and most of all, raising funds for the Visayas.

    Living out the legacy of the Supremo and in solidarity with the rest of the country, the organizers of BGC Passionfest 2013 donated proceeds from various activities to Bulig Bisaya (Help Visayas), a joint campaign of Fort Bonifacio Development Foundation Inc. and Ayala Land, Inc. for rebuilding the Visayas.

    Some highlights of the jam-packed weekend included the much-awaited Run BGC 2013: Takbonifacio featuring participants clad in Katipunero and Guardia Sibil costumes shouting “Sugod!”; entertainment sponsored by the City of Taguig namely, the Drum & Lyre band and a Gantimpala Theater Foundation presentation entitled “Katipunan (Mga Anak ng Bayan)”; music inspired by the life of Andres Bonifacio as performed by today’s hottest bands and artists in Rock Supremo in cooperation with Rock Ed.

    The festivities continued with the best of Filipino cuisine curated by Pinoy Eats World and shared by up and coming food entrepreneurs as presented in BisitaKusina; and a heartwarming Harana by the Philippine Opera.

    BGC Impromptu: 150 Artists for 150 Years, which was an art activity offering Saturday Sketching Session brought in by Moustache Creatives and sponsored by Boysen also happened. There, a total of 150 artists will did live painting along the Bonifacio High Street stretch to commemorate the life, passion and ideals of Andres Bonifacio.

    More fun ensued with the colorful Parada de Kalesa where specially decorated local horse carriages paraded around BGC complete with marching bands; and the magical voices of The Madrigal Singers in “Kislap at Kutitap” showcasing the country’s most prestigious performing groups.

    The three-day feast of passions concluded with a restaging of Sandosenang Sapatos by Tanghalang Pilipino.
