Bourdais edges Sato to win IndyCar race

DETROIT: France’s Sebastien Bourdais won the second race of a weekend IndyCar doubleheader on Sunday, holding off Takuma Sato in the closing laps to post his first victory of the season. Bourdais finished just 1.8 seconds ahead of Japan’s Sato as he was able to conserve enough fuel in the late stages on the 14-turn Detroit Grand Prix street circuit. Graham Rahal finished third, followed by Tristan Vautier and Marco Andretti at Detroit’s Belle Isle Park.
