Box with shabu worth P7M left in Pasig market


POLICE recovered a box containing some P7 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) inside a market stall in Pasig City on Saturday morning. Pasig City police chief Senior Supt. Jose Hidalgo Jr. on Monday said the the stash of shabu weighing one kilo was contained in a box that was left by unidentified man inside a grocery store in Pasig Mega Market. Ho said a female store owner found the box around 9 a.m. on Saturday. A stall owner who requested anonymity disclosed that an unidentified man aged 30 to 40 years old left the box last March 8 and told her that somebody will pick it up. But three weeks after, nobody had claimed the package prompting the store owner to open it. She found that the box contained shabu, prompting her to report the matter to authorities.
