If you and your special someone have decided to stay in this Valentine’s evening—away from unbearable traffic and madly in love crowds—Cinema One Sunday’s Blockbuster has a treat for you with the television premiere of the multi-million peso movie hit The Breakup Playlist at 8 p.m.
Produced by Star Cinema and Viva Films, The Breakup Playlist, which was released in July 2015, is a romantic drama starring Piolo Pascual and Sarah Geronimo in the roles of law student Trixie (Geronimo) and musician Gino (Pascual), whose paths cross because of their love for music. The two collaborate in a song and sparks fly for them. As they develop feelings for each other, they find their emotions to work for and against them, until they end up parting ways.
Years later, a reunion concert brings them together as well as the possibility of reconciliation.
Written by blockbuster-maker Antonette Jadaone and directed by her real beau Dan Villegas, the film was shown in just 180 cinemas nationwide but bested other international films on its first day opening gross with P15 million. The movie ruled the box-office chart taking the first spot over Hollywood movies.
