Following the birth of the second child of Prince William and his wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, the British Ambassador to the Philippines Asif Ahmad shared the following message with The Manila Times, rejoicing with his countrymen on the birth of Princess Charlotte Elizabeth Diana:

“The birth of a new child is a cause for joy and celebration in every family and that happiness is first seen on the faces of the mother and father.

This very essence of family life is a very public occasion when the newborn happens to be also a member of our Royal Family.

The positive reaction to the news in the Philippines has made the event even more special for the thousands of Britons who live here.

Just ahead of the arrival of the new Princess, members of the British Women’s Association raised funds at a Royal Baby shower at the Ambassador’s Residence. The funds will help newborn babies in the Philippines.”
