And now, for the first time ever, Filipino shoppers will have the chance to enjoy food and other merchandise im-ported from the UK on a daily basis as SM Supermarket and SM Hypermarket bring a range of British favorites from Tesco.
“I am pleased that many of Britain’s favorite Tesco items are finally available for Filipinos to enjoy,” says British Ambassador Asif Ahmand. “In the UK, Tesco is a household name and long-established brand. We would like to congratulate SM for successfully bringing Tesco to the Philippines.”
Tesco, the largest retailer and purveyor of Britain’s favorite food and lifestyle brand comes to the Philippines for the very first time giving the local market the chance to experience British living at home. The brand’s wide se-lections of items embody the British lifestyle everyone from housewives to working moms and dads to their ki ds embrace.
Tesco products ranging from snacks, sauces, beverages, baking needs, beans and condiments, to personal care, kitchen items and home aids will now be found on the shelves of select SM Supermarket and SM Hypermarket stores as Tesco’s sole distributors. The formal launching of the brand’s entry into the Philippine market has yet to be held on June 24 at SM Supermarket Aura in Bonifacio Global City.
“We are looking forward to introducing a great range of Tesco products to customers in the Philippines,” enthus-es Tesco senior commercial manager for International Retail Luke Elliot. “We are excited to be able to offer the best of Tesco, and we believe SM is the perfect partner to reach out to Filipino families.”
Some must-try products from the Tesco line include milk chocolate oaties, tomato and chili pasta sauce, and re-duced sugar strawberry jam. The British brand is not just unique but practical and budget-friendly enough to be included in shoppers’ weekly grocery lists for everyday use.
“We’re very proud to exclusively carry great selections of Tesco products as part of our already wide range of of-ferings,” responds SM Supermarket president Joey Mendoza. “Tesco is a very practical brand; it’s great, it’s very useful, and affordable to everyone. Initially, Tesco items will be available at SM Supermarket Makati, Aura, Megamall A and Mega B, North EDSA, Southmall, Pampanga, and Cebu as well as at SM Hypermarket Mall of Asia, Pasig, Clark, and North EDSA branches.
