PARTS of Camarines Sur and Pampanga are set to experience long power interruptions today.
According to the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines (NGCP), a power shutdown will affect the areas serviced by Camarines Sur I Electric Cooperative (Casureco I).
In Camarines Sur, the power interruption will start at 8 a.m. and last until 5 p.m.
This is to facilitate the dismantling of decommissioned communication tower and correction of oil leak at 5-megavolt ampere (MVA) transformer affecting Casureco I’s Load End Substations.
The NGCP earlier said that a 10-hour power shutdown will hit the towns of Apalit, San Simon, Macabebe, Minalin, Masantol, Sto. Tomas in Pampanga province today.
This is to facilitate request of Stronghold Steel Corporation and Pampanga III Electric Cooperative, Inc (Pelco III) for replacement of lightning arresters simultaneous with maintenance works along Mexico-PIMU 69-kilovolt line.
“Normal operations will immediately resume after work completion,” the NGCP said.
NGCP advised its customers and the general public to take the necessary preparations and precautions for the scheduled power interruptions.
