Since leaving Charleston, South Carolina on June 10 (American time), the BRP Ramon Alcaraz (PF-16), the second Hamilton-class cutter in Philippines service, has steamed more than 10,000 nautical miles. “BRP Ramon Alcaraz has now covered more than 10,000 nautical miles since she left the United States for her homebound trip. In a few days time, we will be entering the Philippines area of responsibility; a few days more and we will be arriving in Subic, Zambales. Everyone aboard is very excited to finally come home,” Lt. junior grade Errol dela Cruz, one of Navy public affairs officers, documenting the voyage of the Filipino frigate, said. The ship is presently 285 nautical miles west northwest of Guam on Tuesday.
