Visiting American instructor Rodney Hitchcock will conduct a seminar on Bruce Lee’s martial art of jeet kune do (JKD) on May 17 to 18, at the 4th floor of Wildram Bldg., Makiling Street, Palanan, Makati. The event is hosted by JKD Philippine Chapter under the leadership of Joel Ramos.
Hitchcock fought in underground matches in the 1980’s long before the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He was fortunate to have trained with various UFC fighters over the years to increase his knowledge in Catch Wrestling, Brazilian jiu-jitsu and mixed martial arts (MMA). Hitchcock received his Level 3 JKD instructor rank from the late Ted Wong, which was Lee’s last private student. With Wong’s blessing, Hitchcock began Team Ronin MMA and developed several regional MMA champions.
The seminar will also feature another visiting instructor Jeremy Gordon. Like Hitchcock, Gordon also received training from Wong. He also earned a black belt from the late karate legend and original Lee student Joe Lewis.
