Bulacan enhances disaster preparedness


In line with the observance of the National Disaster Resiliency Month, the Bulacan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (Pdrrmo) lined up programs and activities to strengthen awareness and preparedness of Bulakeños on calamities. Pdrrmo head Felicisima Mungcal cited the importance of 4K’s – “Kamalayan sa Kahandaan, Katumbas ay Kaligtasan” by conducting trainings and activities for July. The training and activities include 8th Water Search (WaSaK) Simulation Exercise on July 5-7 at Patabangan Dam in Nueva Ecija; Ambulance management and mass casualty incident training on July 10-14 at Malolos Resort Club Royale; Basic incident command system training on July 16-26 at PEO Compound in Tarlac; 7th Bulacan Resculympics on July 18 at Bulacan Sports Complex; five-day Advance refresher course and first aid on July 19-25 at the Philippine Red Cross-Bulacan Chapter office; and Basic Life Support-Cardio Pulmunary Resuscitation Olympics in Palayan City, Nueva Ecija on July 27-28. Earthquake drills are set in the towns of Calumpit and Hagonoy from July 18-25 in collaboration with Coalition of Services of Elderly, Inc. Books on DRRM and climate change handbooks will be distributed in public and elementary schools.
