Bulacan mall pays tribute to Jose Joya


A MALL in Marilao, Bulacan paid tribute to National Artist Jose Joya through an exhibit of the bests in Philippine Visual Arts at its center’s atrium. Joya paved the way for new ways of thinking about art and its practices, a profound paradigm shift in the realm of Philippine Art. Mall goers had the rare glimpse of the personal artwork collection of National Artist Joya as well as the works of master artist Angelito Antonio, one of the most influential artists in the modern art movement of the country. Bulacan has produced the most number of National Artists like Amado Hernandez and Virgilio Almario for Literature; Francisco Santiago and Antonio Buenaventura for Music; Honorata Dela Rama for Theater and Joya for the Visual Arts.
