Bulacan, Pampanga sign MOA to address flooding


The local government units (LGUs) along the coastal areas in Bulacan and Pampanga signed Memorandum of Agreement to address flood problem and mitigate climate change by planting five million mangrove saplings along the coastlines. The agreement was held during the launch of “Alyansa ng mga Baybaying Bayan ng Bulacan at Pampanga” on Tuesday with National Economic Development Authority-Region 3 director Severino Santos and Georgina Hernandez, representative of Vice President Leni Robredo. The synchronized planting covers the coastlines of Western Luzon from Cavite to La Union. Malolos City Mayor Christian Natividad was appointed chairman of the technical working group, with the town mayors of Bulakan; Calumpit; Hagonoy; Paombong; Obando; as well as Macabebe, Pampanga; Francisco Magno, director of Jesse Robredo Institute of Governance of De La Salle University.
