The Bulacan provincial government will hold a prayer rally today in Malolos to call for the immediate rehabilitation and preservation of Angat dam. Gov. Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado said Bulacan will convene more than 7,000 residents to pray for their safety. Alvarado said the rally with fasting will start with a prayer walk from MacArthur Highway to Centro Escolar University to mini-forest and will be followed by a Holy Mass at 3 p.m. Expected to attend the prayers are local officials, students from some universities and colleges, veterans/senior citizens, boy/girl scouts, the Four Pillars of Bulacan namely Baptist, Cadence, Interfaith of Bulacan, and other religious denominations. Experts said that Angat dam is nestling along the West Valley Fault Line and can collapse if jolted by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake.
