A Bulgarian was arrested by police after he was reported acting suspiciously while at an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) booth in Barangay Santa Cruz, Guiguinto in Bulacan on Sunday. Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., acting police provincial director, identified the suspect as Orlin Grozdanov Stoev, 41, a Bulgarian and staying in a hotel somewhere in Manila that the suspect refused to disclose. A roving patrol team of Guiguinto police was flagged down at about 2:45 a.m. by a security guard of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) branch who reported the allegedly suspicious action of the suspect as monitored by closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera. Recovered from Stoev’s possession were 20 pieces of assorted foreign ATM cards and three transaction receipts amounting to P40,000. Further investigation disclosed that Stoev has a Filipino accomplice whose identity was not immediately known.
