• Bulldogs battle Falcons for solo lead

National University (NU) guns for solo lead when it tackles Adamson University today in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 77 men’s basketball tournament At the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Bulldogs-Soaring Falcons match is at 4 p.m. after the tussle between Far Eastern University (FEU) and University of the East (UE) at 2 p.m.

NU is sharing the top spot with idle Ateneo de Manila University with identical 3-1 while UE, FEU and last year’s runner-up University of Santo Tomas (UST) are in a three-way tie for third with 2-1 each. Defending champion De La Salle University is in sixth while Adamson (0-3) and University of the Philippines (0-4) are still winless.

After absorbing a heartbreaking 55-57 loss to the Green Archers, the Bulldogs are back in the groove following their 64-40 win over the Blue Eagles on Saturday.

In that win, Jeth Troy Rosario topscored for NU with 16 points on top of eight rebounds, two assists and a steal while Alfred Aroga and Glenn Khobuntin combined for 17 markers and 27 huge boards.

The Bulldogs must go all out against the Soaring Falcons who are raring to notch their first win this season.

Adamson made UST sweat before scoring a close 50-49 decision also last Saturday.

The Soaring Falcons of former Philippine Basketball Association Most Valuable Player Kenneth Duremdes will be relying on Jessie Pedrosa, Joseph Nalos, Antonio Inigo, Jansen Rios and Ivan Villanueva.
