Bus drivers, conductors volunteer vs crime

THE National Capital Regional Police Office (NCRPO) has now engaged hundreds of public transport driver volunteers in its anti-crime fighting efforts in the metropolis of 12 million residents. NCRPO Deputy Regional Director for Operations, Chief Supt. Billy Beltran said that with an agreement signed with representatives of bus companies in Metro Manila, the volunteers will serve as force multipliers in the fight against criminality and terrorism. Signatories were the Southern Luzon Bus Operators (SOLUBOA), Inter-City Bus Operators Association (INTERBOA) and Provincial Bus Operators Association (PBOA). “As we forged this agreement, I reiterate our call that campaign against anti-criminality is not only a police responsibility but everybody’s concern. The more we are united to be vigilant and determined to combat criminality, the more we become strong to outwit criminal groups and individuals,” NCRPO Chief, Director Joel Pagdilao said.
