A BUSINESSMAN was robbed of P2 million cash and shot dead by allegedly members of the notorious Ozamis robbery group Tuesday morning at Poblacion 4, Silang, Cavite. Provincial Police Director Joselito Esquivel Jr. identified the victim as 56-year-old Alberto Balintag y Miranda, owner of Celbert Grocery Store at M.H. Del Pilar corner M. Belem Street in Barangay Poblacion 4. Investigation showed that the victim was inside the store when six men armed with 45 caliber pistols barged in and at gunpoint took his money and various grocery items. Police said the victim sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of his body when he resisted to give some of his other belongings. The suspects left in hurry, leaving behind their car, a Toyota Corolla with license plate TNL 827, and boarded two motorcycles bringing with them their loots. Investigators are looking for evidence if the suspects are members of Ozamis robbery gang that robbed a bank, pawnshop and moneychanger last year.
