The state weather bureau on Monday said the center of international tropical storm “Nepartak” is outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) as of 4:00 p.m.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the international storm was seen at 1,765 km East Virac, Catanduanes (13.2N, 140.6E) with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 100 kph.
PAGASA said the storm is expected to move northwest at 30 kph.
The tropical storm will be named “Butchoy” as soon as it enters the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Meanwhile, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affects Southern Luzon and Visayas.
