The Beach Volleyball Republic (BVR) has forged partnership with ABS-CBN Sports as its official broadcast partner on Tuesday at the Restaurant 9501 in Quezon City.
“We are super excited with the partnership because we just started small and now we got the support of ABS-CBN. We’re excited about the potential of beach volleyball and where it could go,” said BVR shareholder Gretchen Ho.
Representing ABS-CBN were Integrated Sports head Dino Laurena and March Ventosa, COO of Sky Cable and head of Narrowcast while BVR shareholders Charo Soriano, Dzi Gervacio, Fille Cainglet-Cayetano, Bea Tan and Ho represented BVR.
“We believe sport should continue to be promoted especially among our youth and we felt that this is the reason why we sort of saw the Beach Volleyball Republic content as timely partnership,” Laurena said.
As official broadcast partner, ABS-CBN will cover BVR’s events all over the nation, starting with the star-studded tournament at the White House, Boracay on April 27 to 28.
“This is very big for us. It is just the beginning of something we are looking at that will grow so much in the future. This is a challenge for us to step up our game in bringing beach volleyball to the people,” said Tan.
Three BVR semifinal matches and three finals matches will be aired on ABS-CBN Sports + Action and ABS-CBN Sports + Action HD Ch166 on April 28.
Before heading to Boracay, the group will host a BVR leg in Clark, Pampanga from April 16 to 17.
