CA asked to charge school with contempt

The Court of Appeals (CA) on Wednesday was asked to order the contempt and arrest of school authorities for defying the appellate court’s order to release the Certificate of Good Moral Character to one of its graduates. In a Very Urgent Motion filed by Krisel Mallari, through the Public Attorney’s Office, she argued that Santo Niño Parochial School and school registrar Yolanda Casero continued to refuse the issuance of the certificate despite a lawful court order. She also pointed out that such defiance to the orders of the court constitutes the crime of contempt. The incident stemmed from the time Mallari was delivering her salutatory address but was stopped by her adviser.
