THE Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) on Monday commended a security personnel and an accredited airport tricycle driver for their honesty after returning the cash they found in Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA).
Moheimin Nassef and Ronnie Soriano respectively returned a wallet containing more than P23,000 in cash and a bag with P133,000, also in cash, ATM cards and a passbook to its rightful owners.
The CAAP hired Nassef a month ago as an airport intelligence security staff, while Soriano has been an accredited tricycle driver at the airport for 12 years.
ZIA is one of the airports in the country under the control of the CAAP.
On Saturday, CAAP deputy director general for administration Artemio Orozco awarded a certificate of communication to the two honest employees in a simple ceremony held at the Zamboanga airport’s general manager’s office.
“The culture of honesty still prevails on airport employees even on far away Zamboanga,” the CAAP official said.
