• CAAP sees 10% surge in passengers

The number of airline passengers this Christmas season is expected to climb “approximately 10 percent” from last year’s 18,337,772 million, the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines said over the weekend.

“The airports under the aviation regulator are prepared for the influx of passengers eager to return to the provinces to celebrate the holidays in their respective hometowns,” CAAP Director-General Captain Jim C. Sydiongco said in a statement.

Additional measures to ensure safety in all 35 commercial airports nationwide will be implemented from December 1, 2017 until January 5, 2018, it added.

All leaves for personnel are canceled to augment airport service staff.
