He proved untouchable in the Economy class, pushing his Toyota Echo to a best lap time of 1:29.65 for a full two-second lead over his closest rivals. Despite the valiant efforts of 2015 champion Daniel Leonardo, Cadiz prevailed to once again face and eventually beat his longtime rival Mars Delos Reyes in the finals.

“And Cadiz drove his car like a man on a mission and dominated their battle. Mars Delos Reyes took home second place while Leonardo won his battle for third place,” said EZ Ligaya, the organizer of the race series.

Cadiz was named Touge King for the fifth round of the series.

Meanwhile, Hernel Castillo, competing in the Turbo+ class, blistered the time sheets with the fastest time of the day or 1:23.99 with his trusty Subaru STi . Angelo Elinon would take second place and Kevin Sudgen landed in third.

Michael Pasumbal once again dominated the Regular class with his Toyota Levin. His closest rival was Leonard Cristobal in a Honda Civic EF who grabbed second place. Newbie driver Adrian Alfonso improved his drive in his second race and landing a podium finish to take third also in the Regular class.

Felix Perez in his Honda Civic EG raced to a win in the Premium class against nine other drivers chasing him down. Brennan Lim drove his heart out to try and beat Perez but could only come in a close second place. Coming in a respectable third was Fernando Eugenio.

Jay Beredo would take home first place in Race 2. Paul Perez would move on to defeat Zachary Mendoza to take the win in the Race 1 class.

The sixth and final round of Touge Battle will be on May 28 at the Clark Speedway in Pampanga with Cadiz, Paul Perez, Felix Perez and Castillo having enough points to be declared champions in their respective classes.

Touge Battle is organized by Aggressive Line Events and is supported by Autoperformance PH, Vic dealer of Achilles Radial, 2ner Magazine, C! Magazine, Dreamsmed, Monster Energy Drink, The Inflatable Factory, Legit Manila, Prima Coffee, Rally Parts, Studio 21 Creatives, Sushi Factory, SCAG, Bridgestone Alabang, Turbo Time, Time Attack Manila and Wheel-Spin.

Ligaya said a total of 32 cars showed up for the fifth round of the Touge Battle at the BRC.

“Thirty-two race fanatics braved the heat and bad traffic to head on over to the circuit for a fun day at the races. Though 32 arrived, only 30 were able to compete for the day,” he added.
