Cagayan airport to open on October 12


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: The P1.67 billion Cagayan North International Airport in Lallo town will start operating on October 12 after getting a clearance from the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP). Officials of the Cagayan Economic Zone Authority, one of the airport’s major proponents, said the clearance was issued on October 9. CEZA officer-in-charge Julian Gonzales said a chartered plane owned and operated by the Helitrend Corp. is scheduled to arrive on October 12 and will return to Manila on the same day. The airport’s 2.1-kilometer and 45-meter wide runway is capable of accommodating airbus 320 aircrafts.
