THE town of Buguey, a coastal municipality in Cagayan province, has adopted a reward system for law enforcers and informants in their campaign against illegal drugs. Benjie de Yro, town communications specialist, said the reward system was adopted by the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) and approved by Mayor Lloyd Antiporda. It gives P50,000 reward to the law enforcers for every legitimate police operation where the drug pusher is killed. If the drug user is killed, the law enforcers get P20,000; for the arrest of a pusher, P30,000; and P15,000 for every arrested user.
