• Cagayan Valley open to investments

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan: The agricultural potential of Cagayan Valley makes it feasible for investors in agriculture, forestry and fishing industries, said a Cagayan Economic Zone Authority (CEZA) official. Jose Marie Ponce, CEZA Administrator and Chief Executive Officer, said the region’s agriculture and fisheries sub-sectors are the strongest under the economic sector as these comprise over half of the region’s gross regional domestic product. Mandated to develop and manage the 54,000-hectare Cagayan Special Economic and Freeport, CEZA has been able to convince locators to attract entrepreneurs. ”The Cagayan Valley has been consistently producing and supplying other parts of the country with big volume of grains especially in corn and palay whose production levels were 1st and 2nd ranking, respectively, nationwide,” Ponce said.
