Cagayan workers WANT WORK BACK


SANTA ANA, Cagayan: More than 500 laid off workers of banned imported used car traders are hopeful that the car yards at Port Irene in Casamabalangan will open soon to able to support their family again. Hundreds of drivers, mechanics, porters, electricians, welders and helpers lost their jobs following the ban on the importation pre-owned Asian vehicles in the country. Joel Castillo, a former worker at a car trader’s yard here, said they have been experiencing gloomy Christmases for the past two years and wish they could be given job opportunities so they can continue feed their families and send their children to school.
