CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna: Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Supt. Ronald Santos, officer-in-charge of Police Regional Office (PRO) in Region 4-A was relieved from his post on Tuesday.
Santos said he was surprised to receive the order from the Directorate for Personnel Records Management (DPRM) only on Tuesday morning as we has about to lead a joint conference with PNP Anti illegal Drug Group and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).
While the order was received and effective on the same day, the OIC director for R4A or Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), said he will follow the order as a good police officer should do.
Santos was among the police generals seen with the camp of former Interior and Local
Government Sec. Mar Roxas in a Cubao hotel in Quezon City (Metro Manila) weeks before the May 9 election.
Santos has denied the meeting was election-related saying it was merely a get together of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) mistahs.
His new assignment is at the Civil Security as deputy director.
Replacing Santos is Chief Supt. Valfrie Tabian of PMA CLASS 86 and currently the Deputy Regional Director for Administration of PRO 18 (Negros Island).
