California evacuates thousands after methane leak

LOS ANGELES (Al Jazeera): An energy company in California is attempting to find the source of a gas-well leak responsible for releasing tens of thousands of tons of methane into the air and displacing thousands of families. The Southern California Gas company said it had drilled to a depth of 1,219 meters at the Aliso Canyon storage facility in an attempt to find the source of the emissions, but acknowledged it could take up to late-March to stop the leak. Workers are not sure exactly where the 2,652-meter deep well was breached.
