Calle Real featured in heritage summit


ILOILO CITY: Calle Real, the first commercial business district in Western Visayas, will be featured in the National Heritage Conservation Summit slated October 24 to 26 at the University of the Philippines Auditorium. Some 200 participants comprising historians, heritage conservationalists and academe will discuss the revival of old downtown areas and the best practices to conserve historic districts in the country. The summit is jointly spearheaded by the Iloilo City government, Heritage Conservation Society and the Cultural Heritage Conservation Council. Also to be tackled in the summit are Escolta, Manila as a premier business area, the municipality of Taal, Batangas and Angeles, Pampanga.
