• Caloocan vice mayor’s brother linked to drugs


    The brother of Caloocan City Vice Mayor Macario Asistio 3rd is being hunted by agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) after he was tagged as one of the leaders of a drug syndicate operating in the city.

    Luis “Pachot” Asistio and Arsenio Pascual 4th, an architect, were accused of maintaing a drug den at 18 Greer Tech St., University Hills Subdivision where methamphetamine hydrochloride, marijuana and ecstacy were seized during a raid.

    Pascual and two other persons were arrested when NBI operatives searched the drug den on Thursday.

    Investigation revealed that Pascual was referred to the Central Luzon Drug Rehabilitation Center. He went through a post-rehabilitation treatment but continued to use illegal drugs.

    Luis Asistio was not present during the raid but Pascual, Sharlot Isip and Michael Gerez were there and consequently arrested.

    The three tested positive for drug use.

    Cases of violation of Section 6 (Maintenance of Drug Den), Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs, Section 12 (Possession of Drug Paraphernalia) of R.A. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and R.A. 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will be filed against Asistio and Pascual while charges of violation of Section 7 (Visiting Drug Den) and Section 15 (Use of Dangerous Drugs) will be filed against Isip and Gerez.
