CAMEROON-BORN BIKA WINS WORLD TITLE

NEW YORK: Cameroon-born Australian Sakio Bika won the World Boxing Council (WBC) super middleweight crown on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), taking a majority decision over previously undefeated Marco Antonio Periban of Mexico. Bika took the vacant WBC throne when two judges scored him the winner by margins of 116-112 and 115-113, while the third judge scored the bout a 114-114 draw.
