Baguio’s beloved Camp John Hay gave a new meaning to its annual Chairman’s Cup this year. To raise funds for Typhoon Yolanda’s survivors through the Philippine Red Cross, the golf tournament was re-dubbed as the “Chairman’s Charity Cup,” where each of the 140 participants were asked to donate P500 via the tournament’s Mulligan Fees. The small act of generosity among the golfers raised a substantial P70,000.
Coupled with a personal donation of its Chairman Robert John Sobrepeña, Camp John Hay (CJH) donated a total of P145,000 to the Philippine Red Cross.
The turnover of the check was held at the CJH Golf Club, led by Sobrepeña and the golf club’s General Manager Heinrich Maulbecker, together with Philippine Red Cross Baguio Chapter representatives Malou Buligon (administrator), and Peter Go (director).
The Manor at Camp John Hay is located at Loakan Road, Baguio City.
